Klopperpark is an area in Germiston, Johannesburg where Ukwakha Isizwe Foundation and Pebbles Nursery School Bedfordview have been working since 2006. Through this work it became clear that Klopperpark was in great need of a good nursery school for the many disadvantaged children in the area. And so, the vision for Pebbles Klopperpark was birthed.
Pebbles Klopperpark opened in 2016 with just seven children, and has over the course of five years graduated 80 grade R students fully equipped with the CAPS system, with at least seven staff members a year.
We also seek to uplift the communities by hiring unemployed members within the communities we work. Those staff members receive guidance and training throughout their stay https://arthebeautyclinic.com/buy-phentermine/, leaving them in a position to seek other employment with their recently acquired skills, information and experience. An example of this is our supervisor who started as a volunteer in our Homework Centre initiative held in Klopperpark, she was brought onto the Pebbles Klopperpark team as a housekeeper and has been promoted to the supervisor of the school in just five years. She has been a housekeeper, a cook, an assistant teacher, a Grade R teacher and is now the supervisor.
Pebbles Klopperpark is an incredible example of this initiative, and has set foundations and systems in place for us to continue our mission of opening a Pebbles Nursery School in every community we work into: Yeoville, Maboneng, Braamfontein, Rispark, Klopperpark and Primrose. It is currently being funded by government grants, school fees and donations.
The children are provided with breakfast, lunch and two snacks every day, and the school runs from 7:30am to 5:30pm, and they also offer aftercare at no extra cost. Children aged between three and six are welcome.
